Spraynard - Funtitled
Damn Spraynard, you got good! Cut and Paste was a lot of fun. The splits with Paramedic, Break the Habit, and Sundials were all great too. But something happened when these guys got signed to Asian Man Records. Put aside all the opinions you have about Latterman and Iron Chic influenced bands. Funtitled is a damn good album. Clever album title? Check. Funny cover? Check. Song title referencing It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Check. The catchiest songs you’ve ever heard? You bet you ass!
I’m really fighting the urge to just type over and over IT’S SO FUCKING GOOD!!! But that would make for a terrible review. But words can’t really capture how I feel about this album. I was singing along with this album the first time through. “I Care Not” makes you think this album is going to be kind of serious. And while the lyrics on here don’t get silly, the tone is about having a good time even when you live in a shitty town with nothing to do. “The Denver Broncos vs. The Denver Broncos” is about proving that you are more than just your hobbies. “O.R. They?” is about the people that keep you where you live. “Little Green Ghouls” is about remember the older days. I could break every song down, but that wouldn’t really tell you anything. Just trust me when I say that this is the most fun you will have listening to an album.
So there you have it. I hope my shitty writing doesn’t hurt your opinion of these albums, and I’m sure only two or three of you are actually reading these. I hope you listen to at least one or two of these albums, because I think they are really worth the time.
